So, long story short, my name is Haris and I run a small shelter at Argyroupoli village, Crete.
I started this project completely on my own — and that’s still how it runs today, with just a little help from a few amazing people who care. I simply couldn’t keep looking the other way anymore. The situation with stray dogs on my island is tragic.
Thrown away in garbage bins. Chained and forgotten. Poisoned. Abused. Left to die.
So I decided to act — to offer them safety, food, care, and love.
Every dog here has a story, and every single one deserves a chance to live the life they were meant to have.

My mission is to give abandoned and abused dogs a second chance at life. To rescue, heal, and rehome them with families who will love them as they deserve. And beyond that, to inspire change — to show that kindness can transform lives, both theirs and ours. Because what we build today can keep saving lives forever.

Every structure i build, every protocol i establish, and every life i save becomes part of something larger than ourselves. This shelter represents hope that transcends any single person's lifetime, ensuring that long after we're gone, animals will still find safety, healing, and love within these walls.
I operate with hands-on dedication and heart-driven purpose. Every rescued animal receives individual attention, from emergency medical care to behavioral rehabilitation and loving socialization. My approach combines immediate crisis response with long-term sustainable solutions for animal welfare.
Compassion for animals is intimately associated with goodness of character.
