Make a difference

Every dog and cat at aboutashelter has a story. Most of them shouldn't have survived. But they did – and now they need your help to truly live.

I can give them safety and love. But I can't do this alone.

Here's how you can help:

Donate

Every euro makes a real difference.

Your donation directly funds:
- Emergency veterinary care
- Food and medication
- Shelter improvements (like winter houses for our dogs)
- Rescue operations

Whether it's €10 or €100 – it all helps save lives.

Adopt

Give a rescue dog or cat their forever home.

Our animals have been through hell. They've survived abandonment, injury, neglect – sometimes all three. Now they're ready for something they've never had: a real family.

Every animal is:
- Veterinary checked
- Vaccinated
- Chipped
- Spayed/neutered

Sponsor

Support a specific dog or cat long-term.

Some animals need ongoing medical care, special food, or rehabilitation. Monthly sponsorship ensures they get what they need – even while waiting for adoption.

Your sponsorship covers:
- Monthly food and medication
- Veterinary checkups
- Specialized care

You'll receive updates and photos of your sponsored animal.

Other Ways to Help

Can't adopt or donate monthly? There are other ways:

- Donate supplies: Food, blankets, medical supplies

- Volunteer: Visit the shelter and help with daily care

- Spread the word: Share our stories on social media

Every bit of support counts.

Why It Matters

I gave up my normal life for this work. Some days are overwhelming – the emergencies never stop, the costs keep growing, and there's always another animal who needs help.

But then I see a dog like Hector sleeping peacefully in his new house. Or Rocco wagging his tail despite everything he's been through. And I remember why I do this.

These animals don't give up on us – even when we've given up on them.

Now it's our turn not to give up on them.

Thank you for being part of their story.
