When the Municipality of Rethymno called us, Jessie’s situation was heartbreaking. He had belonged to a German woman living on the island who could no longer keep him—and perhaps that was for the best. Jessie had been left chained outside a crumbling house, spending his days waiting for a bit of care or attention. Now safe in our sanctuary, he is finally free to enjoy kindness, comfort, and companionship. Jessie is a truly fine boy, friendly, calm, and full of heart. He seeks closeness to people and simply wants to please. Once he has built trust, he forms a deep bond with his person and follows them everywhere with loyal devotion.
In everyday life, Jessie is patient and even-tempered. He waits politely for his food and never pushes himself forward. When it is time to cuddle, he makes himself very small, as if to show how gentle he truly is.
Jessie is a soft-hearted dog who needs very little to be happy but blossoms with love and kindness. He is looking for a home where he can settle in, feel safe, and become part of a family. Whoever opens their heart to him will find a faithful friend for life.
